The Nebraska Adolescent Health Program supports all caring supportive adults working with young people to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to assist youth and young adults to grow into happy, healthy, successful adults. The program receives Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention funding from the Family Youth Services Bureau, leads adolescent and young adult-related work under the Title V Maternal Child Health Block Grant, and builds partnerships to improve the health and well-being of young people in Nebraska.

The Adolescent Health program uses a Positive Youth Development (PYD) framework, which views all young people as assets to society with unique perspectives. It engages youth within their communities, schools, organizations, peer groups, and families in a constructive manner; recognizes, and enhances their strengths; and promotes positive outcomes for young people by providingMulti-cultural teenagers sitting on the stairs. opportunities, building positive relationships, and providing the support needed to build on their leadership strengths ( PYD places great value on the involvement of young people in the programs that try to help them improve their health outcomes.
