
Epidemiology is the study of disease and the factors that are associated with disease in a population. The Office of Epidemiology collects and analyzes data on health behaviors and outcomes to promote evidence-based policies that will help Nebraskans live better lives (the mission of the Department of Health and Human Services).
The mission of the Office of Epidemiology is to protect the health of Nebraskans by performing public health surveillance, responding to disease outbreaks, and preventing and controlling the spread of disease.
