The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) is a national resource of medical supplies ready and waiting to help states handle public health emergencies. The SNS Inventory program is part of the Nebraska State Immunization Information System (NESIIS), therefore the client database is shared between both systems. The SNS program is used specifically to track SNS inventory in case of a bioterroristic event or state emergency.

Type of Data

The data are population-based for ongoing surveillance.

Data Collection Method and Availability

Patient information is derived from the NESIIS database. It includes pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and medical equipment. The data has been collected since 2001 in real time.
