Background
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services' staff conduct sanitary and food inspections for recreation camps. Camp sites must be clean, well-drained and not subject to flooding. Adequate area shall be available for the development of the camp, including satisfactory water supply and waste disposal systems. The camp must be located, maintained and operated so as to be free of nuisances and hazards detrimental to the health and safety of the camper.

Data Collection Method and Availability
Staff conduct sanitary and food inspections. Inspections are conducted biannually. Every item on the inspection report is not entered into the database; only written comments are entered. The data have been collected annually since 1998.
