Background
The Office of Health Disparities and Health Equity (OHDHE) works to improve health outcomes for Nebraska's culturally diverse populations with a vision of health equity for all Nebraskans.
Type of Data
The data are from the census for ongoing surveillance.
Data Collection Method and Availability
The census bureau collects census data every 10 years and the Census Estimates Program collects data every year. Data are collected from the census bureau then analyzed to highlight minority populations, such as African Americans, Asians, American Indians, or Hispanics. Census data are available for 2000 and 2010; Census estimates are available for every year.
The American Community Survey (ACS) is conducted every year to provide up-to-date information about the social and economic needs of communities. The ACS shows how people live--education, housing, jobs and more.
