Data Collection Method and Availability
All marriage certificate information is gathered by the county clerk when the bride and groom are applying for the marriage license. After the couple is married, the license is transmitted both electronically and by paper to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Vital Records where the information is verified. Marriage certificates have been filed since 1909.
