The Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) maintains a sophisticated crash data system, which collects, categorizes, and analyzes crashes on all roads in Nebraska

Type of Data

The data are population-based for ongoing surveillance.

Data Collection Method and Availability

Crash data are obtained for every vehicle traffic accident where either one or more people are injured, vehicle damage exceeds $1,000, and/or property of any one person exceeds $1,000. The state uses the data to identify safety problems, including those defined in the state’s Highway Safety Plan and Highway Safety Improvement Program. The data have been collected annually since 1988.
