Department of Health and Human Services Rules & Regulations
Legal and Regulatory Services provides legal advice and representation for DHHS and coordinates all DHHS rulemaking activities.
Legal services provided include –
- Interpretation of federal laws and regulations, state statutes, and administrative rules and regulations for DHHS programs and facilities
- Representing DHHS in administrative hearings and some court cases
- Drafting and review of legislation, rules and regulations, contracts, and other documents
Regulatory services provided include –
- Managing a uniform rulemaking system and process for DHHS
- Providing technical assistance to DHHS staff in the development of regulations
- Scheduling and conducting all public hearings on proposed rulemaking
