Over the past several years, DHHS through the Division of Medicaid and Long-Term Care (MLTC), has engaged stakeholders in conversations regarding the delivery of long-term care (LTC).Those initial conversations resulted in a plan to implement managed LTC by integrating the services into risk-based contracts with managed care organizations (MCOs).

With the recent transition of leadership in Nebraska, MTLC has revised those plans and is taking an opportunity to open a broader dialogue with stakeholders regarding a more comprehensive redesign of LTC services in Nebraska. MLTC launched its Long-Term Care Redesign Project with the release of the Nebraska Medicaid Long-Term Services and Supports Program Redesign concept paper.

This concept paper outlines the current challenges in the LTC system, DHHS's guiding principles for the redesign, and solicits the input of stakeholders in several key areas. Over the next year, MLTC will be working with LTC stakeholders exploring opportunities for improving the LTC system.

Mercer Health Benefits, Inc has published a LTC Redesign Draft. We are currently seeking feedback on this draft with listening sessions accross the state. If you are unable to join us on the road, there are also two webinars on the schedule. All meeting times are Central Daylight Time. (CDT)
