Training for Providers of DD Services...or Anyone!
Providers are required to have training in Abuse and Neglect. The following free training is available:
Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation - Training meets the Abuse and Neglect requirement for independent providers. The training covers Child and Adult Protective Services Acts including definitions and statutes. Training provides the definition of a mandatory reporter for both children and adults, discusses reasonable cause to believe regarding reporting, outlines the procedures for reporting, and explains how an investigation into an allegation occurs. This webinar also touches on the central registry and penalties for violating the laws.
Providers are required to know how to write habilitative plans in order to provide habilitative services. The following free trainings are available:

Habilitation Plans Webinar - Training covers writing habilitation plans
for Independent Providers. It includes details on the definition of a
habilitation plan, assessment, creating a baseline, writing goals and
objectives, reviewing teaching methods, data collection, and pulling reports.
Therap Habilitative Training - ISP Programs & Data - Trainings cover using Therap for habilitation plans. Webinars can be found on the Independent Provider page of Therap. Trainings are located in the orange box. To access training, you must create or sign in to your Therap Training Account, which is separate from your Therap login.
Habilitation Plan - Training demonstrates the steps for creating, updating, copying, and discontinuing Hab Plans in the Therap Habilitation Plan module.
ISP Programs and Templates Overview - Training covers ISP programs, templates, and the steps for creating ISP programs.
ISP Data: Documentation and Search - Training covers how to document data collected for ISP Programs and searching for data that has been entered. Training includes the process of acknowledgment, where to find goals, outcomes and rationale for programs, along with other instructions for running programs and data collection.
Habilitation Plan Overview - This step-by-step guide assists in writing habilitation programs. It is a companion to habilitation training.
Nebraska VR - Nebraska VR is offering two in-person trainings for job coaches and job developers. These are offered in Kearney on April 18, 2018 and in Lincoln on April 23, 2018. More information is available on the online invitation. You may also register online.
OMNI Behavioral Health - OMNI offers training opportunities that meet the Division's requirements. Information on training topics, speakers, and fees is available at OMNI's website. Trainings occur across the state and via webinar. Webinar trainings can be viewed from your computer anytime! A calendar of upcoming trainings is available. Trainings are open to anyone!
Therap Training Academy - Therap, the state mandated electronic billing system, offers training opportunities. Enrollment to the training academy is free. Therap is a large and important part of the services we provide. It is important to learn about what Therap offers us.
Respite Provider Orientation - Free online training gives the tools needed to be a successful respite provider. Intended for all respite providers, regardless of funding source. Training will take approximately an hour and you can start and stop as needed. You will receive a certificate after successful completion.
