Program Improvement Plan

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families requires states to develop program improvement plans (PIPs) addressing any areas in which the states were found not to be in substantial conformity.  Program improvement plans cover two year time periods.  Nebraska has successfully completed all of the action steps outlined in its first and second program improvement plans. 

The Administration for Children and Families' Regional Office in Kansas City monitors the State's progress in completing the program improvement plans through semi-annual status reports submitted by the State.  Semi-Annual reports include a description of progress made during the reporting period, and data on measurable factors and their relationship to the established goals.  Annual evaluations of program improvement plan progress are conducted jointly by the ACF Region Office and the State.
