Food Distribution Program


The Emergency Food Assistance Program
TEFAP is a federally funded program, administered by the USDA Food & Nutrition Services.  The State of Nebraska administers the program funding and eligibility guidelines.
TEFAP helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with healthful foods at no cost.  Under TEFAP, recipients of food for home use must meet program eligibility criteria set by the State.
Food is made available to two Nebraska Food Banks, which contract with Food Pantries to distribute food to needy households for preparing meals for home consumption or to organizations that prepare and provide meals to the needy.
