Norfolk Employees to Be Recognized as
DHHS Employee and Supervisor of the Year
October is Nebraska State Employee Recognition Month
Lincoln—Two Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) employees in Norfolk are being recognized as employees and supervisors of the year.
Angela Janssen, an accountant at the Norfolk Veterans’ Home (NVH), and Dianna Mastny, a nurse supervisor at the Norfolk Regional Center (NRC), will be recognized as an employee and supervisor of the year, respectively.
October is Nebraska State Employee Recognition Month and each October state agencies are allowed to select one employee and one supervisor/manager of the year for every 500 people employed by the agency.
“These employees and supervisors are an inspiration to all of us and I want to thank them for their hard work and dedication,” said Courtney Phillips, DHHS CEO. “It is a true honor to be nominated by your peers for this recognition.”
Janssen was recognized by her coworkers who said she is courteous, helpful and works hard for NVH’s members. They also noted her energy and enthusiasm and said that she “represents all that is good at the Norfolk Veterans' Home.”
Mastny was nominated by her coworkers who said she is a valued member of their clinical team. Her coworkers also said she “goes above and beyond her job duties and is always willing to help out wherever needed.”
DHHS’ employees and supervisors of the year, including Janssen and Mastny, will be honored on Thursday, October 29 with a reception with Gov. Pete Ricketts at the Capitol Rotunda, a reception at the Governor’s Residence and a DHHS recognition at the Cornhusker Hotel.
NVH is part of DHHS’ Division of Veterans’ Homes which also oversees veterans’ homes in Grand Island, Bellevue and Scottsbluff.
NRC is part of DHHS’ Division of Behavioral Health.
