Department of Health and Human Services to Hold Hearings September 16 on Proposed Changes to Public Health Regulations
Lincoln – The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is holding hearings on proposed changes to public health licensure regulations on Friday, September 16, in the Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lower Level, Conference Room A, in Lincoln.

The DHHS Division of Public Health is holding this hearing to accept comments on proposed regulations related to the licensure of physical therapists and certification and supervision of physical therapy assistants.

The DHHS Division of Public Health is holding this hearing to accept comments on proposed regulations related to the licensure of chiropractors/chiropractic physicians.
The proposed regulations for both hearings will reflect the provisions of the Uniform Credentialing Act, including:
- New and revised definitions and processes;
- Continuing competency requirements;
- Grounds for discipline, acts considered unprofessional conduct, and administrative penalty for practice without a credential.
The proposed regulations also require lawful presence in the United States
Anyone may attend and comment at a hearing or submit comments in writing. Written comments will be given the same consideration as comments made in person. Written comments must be postmarked or received by 5:00 p.m. CT September 18 and should be sent to DHHS Legal Services, 301 Centennial Mall South, P.O. Box 95026, Lincoln, NE 68509-5026, fax 402-742-2382, or e-mailed to DHHS.RulesandRegs@nebraska.gov. Copies of written comments and names of persons submitting them will be available after the hearing from DHHS as above.
