Department of Health and Human Services to Hold Hearing February 17 on Proposed Regulations

Lincoln –The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is holding a hearing on Thursday, February 17, in the Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lower Level, Conference Room A, in Lincoln. The hearing will begin at 10:00 a.m. CT.

The Division of Medicaid and Long-Term Care is holding this hearing to accept comments on proposed new regulations on Medicaid payment for comprehensive interdisciplinary treatment for severe feeding disorders. The regulations will implement provisions of LB 342 (2009).

The proposed regulations provide for Medicaid payment by establishing:

  • The coverage of treatment (as opposed to diagnosis only);
  • The definition of interdisciplinary treatment for this service;
  • Prior authorization requirements;
  • Identification of individuals eligible for this treatment; and
  • Provisions for payment of intensive day treatment and outpatient treatment services.
