Walk on October 1 at the Lincoln Regional Center for Mental Health Awareness Week
Food and Fun Available
Lincoln—The Lincoln Regional Center is sponsoring a walk on Friday, October 1, to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week (Oct. 3-9).
Participants will walk the beautiful grounds of LRC, including the arboretum. Tours of the facility’s museum will be available. There will be food from vendors, entertainment, and activities.
“The purpose of the walk is to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and recognize the shared vision of hope for recovery,” said Scot Adams, Director of the Division of Behavioral Health. “Consumers of mental health services, their families and friends, advocates, neighbors, and anyone interested are invited to take part in the walk.”
The walk is scheduled to take place from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m.
NOTE: If you are interested in taking photos of the walk, contact Stacey Werth-Sweeney, Facility Operating Officer, at (402) 326-8230 to make arrangements. Photos of patients are not allowed.
