Department of Health and Human Services to Hold Two Hearings October 7
Medicaid, Abortion Reporting
Lincoln –The Department of Health and Human Services is holding two hearings October 7 in the Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lower Level, Conference Room ‘A’, Lincoln, NE.
Public Hearing at 9:00 a.m. CT
The Division of Long-term Care and the Division of Children and Family Services are holding this hearing to accept comments on proposed changes to regulations that will require providers of benefits and services for programs administered through these divisions to accept electronic payments from the Department. This is currently required by the Medicaid program and these proposed regulations changes will expand the electronic payment requirement.
Public Hearing at 10:00 a.m. CT
The Division of Public Health is holding this hearing to accept comments on proposed regulations for the reporting of abortions performed at 20 weeks or more post-fertilization as determined by the abortion provider. The regulations also provide for publication of compiled information on reported abortions, provide a supplemental reporting form for those performed at 20 weeks or more post-fertilization, and establish the required timeframe for reporting.
Anyone may attend and comment at the hearings or submit comments in writing. Written comments must be postmarked or received by 5:00 p.m. CT, October 9.
