Rally Sept. 26 Celebrating National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month
Lincoln—A rally will be held on the State Capitol steps on Sunday, September 26, to celebrate recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs.
The rally is sponsored by the Nebraska Recovery Network, which is supported in part by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health.
Over 75,000 Nebraskans have alcohol and drug abuse problems and can benefit from treatment. Many others are in recovery.
“The bright side of addiction is recovery,” said Scot Adams, Ph.D., Director of the Division of Behavioral Health. “Attendance at this rally will give support to those with alcohol and drug problems who are recovering.”
Families, friends and other supporters will celebrate with food, fun, activities and music. Everyone is welcome.
The rally will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
