Department of Health and Human Services to Hold a Hearing December 2

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program

Lincoln –The Department of Health and Human Services is holding a hearing at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, in the Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lower Level, Conference Room A, in Lincoln.

The Division of Children and Family Services is holding this hearing to accept comments on proposed changes to regulations for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

The changes will provide for the purchase of water service and water heater repair or replacement when a household is in a crisis situation, such as imminent termination of service. The individual must either own or be purchasing the home.

Anyone may attend and comment at the hearings or submit comments in writing. Written comments must be postmarked or received by 5:00 p.m. CT December 4 and should be sent to DHHS Regulatory Analysis and Integration, 301 Centennial Mall South, P.O.
