Department of Health and Human Services to Hold Hearing on ACCESSNebraska and SNAP Regulations July 2nd
Lincoln –The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Divisions of Children & Family Services and Medicaid & Long-Term Care are holding this hearing to accept comments on proposed changes to regulations. The hearing will be held July 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. CDT, in the Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lower Level, Conference Room ‘A’, Lincoln, NE.
The proposed changes will:
Related to the implementation of ACCESSNebraska, the DHHS initiative to modernize and streamline the delivery of economic assistance services: These regulations provide for initial steps toward the processing of applications and case reviews in four customer service centers around the state.
For the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamps): These will change the name of the program and implement various provisions of the 2008 Farm Bill and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
