Members Sought for Health Boards

Lincoln—The State Board of Health is seeking members of the public and of certain professions to serve on professional boards that are responsible for granting license privileges to health care providers. Public representatives or professionals are needed to serve on the following boards:

  • Board of Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (nurse practitioner)
  • Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (audiologist, speech-language pathologist, public member)
  • Board of Chiropractic (chiropractor, public member)
  • Board of Dentistry (dentists, dental hygienists and public members)
  • Board of Hearing Aid Specialists (hearing aid specialist)
  • Board of Medical Nutrition Therapy (medical nutrition therapist)
  • Board of Medicine and Surgery (physician, public members)
  • Board of Nursing (staff nurse, practical nurse educator, associate degree or diploma nurse educator, practical nurse)
  • Board of Nursing Home Administration (representatives of nonprofit home, college faculty and proprietary home)
  • Board of Respiratory Care (physician)
  • Board of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (veterinarian, public member)

Professionals who are actively engaged in the practice of any of the above professions will be appointed to fill vacancies on the boards. Individuals who can represent a consumer perspective and are not licensed in the particular areas that the board serves will be appointed to fill public member vacancies.
