Volunteers Sought for Health Boards

Lincoln—The State Board of Health is seeking members of the public and of certain professions to serve on several professional boards that are responsible for granting license privileges to health care providers. Public representatives or professionals are needed to serve on the following boards:

    • Board of Athletic Training (athletic trainer)
    • Board of Cosmetology, Electrology, Esthetics, Nail Technology, and Body Art (nail technician, licensed instructor, electrologist)
    • Board of Registered Environmental Health Specialists (environmental health specialist, public member)
    • Board of Funeral Directing and Embalming (funeral director and embalmer)
    • Board of Mental Health Practice (certified marriage and family therapist, public member)
    • Board of Optometry (optometrist, public member)
    • Board of Pharmacy (pharmacist)
    • Board of Physical Therapy (physical therapist, public member)
    • Board of Podiatry (podiatrist, public member)
    • Board of Psychologists (psychologist, public members)

Professionals who are actively engaged in the practice of any of the above professions will be appointed to fill vacancies on the boards. Individuals who can represent a consumer perspective and are not licensed in the particular areas that the board serves will be appointed to fill public member vacancies.
