Iowa Youth Returns Home
Lincoln – As of late this morning, the 14-year-old girl from Council Bluffs, Iowa who was left at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha on October 7 was safely returned to the custody of her guardian.
Reunification occurred after the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the Iowa Department of Human Services conducted safety assessments and determined that it was safe to return the girl to her guardian with services and supports as needed to be provided by Iowa. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is no longer involved in this situation.
"I appreciate the assistance and cooperation of the Iowa Department of Human Services so that we could resolve this situation safely and quickly," Landry said.
