DHHS to Hold Seven Hearings July 24 in Lincoln

Lincoln – The Department of Health and Human Services will hold seven public hearings July 24, 2008. The hearings will take place in Lincoln at the State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lower Level Conference Rooms ‘A’ or ‘C.’

Public Hearing at 9:00 a.m. CT in Lower Level Conf. Room A

The proposed revisions will define "hospital outpatient observation services" for the Medicaid program.

Public Hearing at 9:00 a.m. CT in Lower Level Conf. Room C

The proposed regulations on access to client case records will clarify that the agency will provide information from a client’s case record to the client or his/her representative upon written request, regardless of whether a hearing has been requested.

Public Hearing at 10:00 a.m. CT in Lower Level Conf. Room A

The proposed revisions will allow dental hygienists to enroll as providers of dental services under Medicaid.

Public Hearing at 10:00 a.m. CT in Lower Level Conf. Room C

The proposed changes will revise regulations for Child Support Enforcement to remove the provision that Child Support Enforcement can provide Review and Modification services to incarcerated individuals, to provide that the Department must make reasonable efforts to recoup from the overpaid party all IV-D and former IV-D overpayments regardless of cause and non-IV-D overpayments when the payments were due to another court ordered payee, and to make other changes.

Public Hearing at 11:00 a.m. CT in Lower Level Conf. Room A

The proposed revisions to regulations for Medicaid rehabilitative psychiatric services (also known as the Medicaid rehab option) will allow an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide some hours for Assertive Community Treatment services that were previously required to be delivered by a psychiatrist and make other changes.

Public Hearing at 1:30 p.m. CT in Lower Level Conf. Room A

The proposed revisions to regulations for licensure of nursing home administrators will implement provisions of the Uniform Credentialing Act (UCA) and make other revisions.

Public Hearing at 2:30 p.m. CT in Lower Level Conf. Room A

The proposed revisions to regulations for licensure of medical nutrition therapists will implement provisions of the Uniform Credentialing Act (UCA) and make other revisions.
