DHHS Disaster Food Stamp Assistance Centers in Omaha are Full Today

We’re asking for your help to let your Omaha viewers and listeners know that the DHHS centers accepting Disaster Food Stamp Assistance are already full today. Would you be willing to run a trailer and/or make announcements asking people to stay home and apply for Disaster Food Stamp Assistance another day?

Information to Provide:

  • All DHHS Disaster Food Stamp Assistance centers are already full today. The centers will be open through Monday, July 14. In respect of client’s time, DHHS asks that people choose another day to apply.
  • When people apply and receive this special Disaster Food Stamp Assistance, they’ll get their benefit within one to two days. People who receive benefits they are not entitled to will be required to pay them back.
  • Disaster Food Stamp Assistance is available in response to the June 27 storms that left thousands of people in the Omaha area without electricity.

Sound bites from Todd Landry, Director of the Division of Children and Family Services, will be available on this topic at 11:00 a.m.
