DHHS Announces Intent to Contract with NFC for Child Welfare Case Management Starting July 1 in Eastern Service Area
Lincoln—The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Children and Family Services today (3/30) announced its intent to issue a sub-award to Nebraska Families Collaborative (NFC) for child welfare case management services in the Eastern Service Area.
The five-year contract with two, one-year renewal options, is a cost reimbursement based sub-award not exceeding $71.5 million a year. It takes effect July 1. NFC currently provides case management services for the Eastern Service Area, which includes Douglas and Sarpy counties.
Under the contract, DHHS will continue to:
- Staff and operate the Nebraska Adult and Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline;
- Conduct all initial assessments of children’s safety and risk;
- Conduct assessments of abuse or neglect allegations in out-of-home settings; and
- License foster homes, childcare providers, group homes and other facilities.
