DHHS To Hold Developmental Disabilities Webinar
Lincoln—The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Developmental Disabilities will hold the first in a series of Rate Rebase and Objective Assessment Process Redesign stakeholder workgroup webinars on Friday, Feb.10 from 10 am to noon central time. The webinar is designed to solicit input from participants receiving services, families, advocates, providers and any interested citizens on the redesign project.
“We have accomplished much in 2016,” said Courtney Miller, director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities at DHHS. “We plan to continue our collaboration as we embark on our next endeavor, the Rate Rebase and Objective Assessment Process (OAP) Redesign.”
CMS expects states to rebase rates for Home and Community Based Services every five years. The Department will perform a study of the rates for services provided on the Medicaid HCBS waivers. The OAP process assesses need and determines funding for new people entering DD services. It has also been used to reassess need/funding for people whose support needs have increased via the Service Needs Assessment process. These rate release and OAP go hand in hand as they impact the total allocation of developmental disabilities services.
