Danielle Larson Named YRTC-Geneva Facility Operations Officer

Geneva – Danielle Larson, 31, has been named facility operations officer at the Youth Rehabilitation Center in Geneva.

Larson was hired in June 2008 as youth security specialist, and was promoted in April 2012 to youth security supervisor. In February 2013, she became a youth counselor and coordinator of the Mothers and Babies Program.

She fills the position previously held by Mary Stofer who retired last December, when Larson began serving as interim facility operations officer.

“Danielle has excelled in every role she has served here, and has gained credibility with staff and youth along the way,” said Dan Scarborough, facility administrator. “She is a strong leader and works with a commitment to provide quality services to our youth.”

He praised Larson for her role as a co-lead for the implementation of the Prison Rape Elimination Act and ensuring ongoing compliance with the American Correctional Association accreditation standards.

Larson earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas University with a major in psychology.
