Members Sought for Professional Boards

Lincoln—The State Board of Health is seeking members to serve on several health care Boards.  Professional boards are responsible for granting license privileges to health care providers.  Terms are five years in length and run through November 30, 2021, and then members would be eligible for reappointment to a five-year term.  The following boards have vacancies:

Board of Advance Practice Registered Nurses:  Physician, CRNA, Public
Board of Alcohol and Drug Counseling:  Alcohol & Drug Counselor
Board of Athletic Training:  Athletic Trainer, Public
Board of Chiropractic:  Chiropractor
Board of Cosmetology, Electrology, Esthetics, Nail Technology, and Body Art:  School Owner, Electrologist, Tanning Salon Owner, Public
Board of Dentistry:  Dentist, Dental School Faculty
Board of Funeral Directing and Embalming:  Funeral Director and Embalmer, Public
Board of Hearing Instrument Specialist:  Hearing Instrument Specialist, Otolaryngologist
Board of Massage Therapy:  Massage Therapist
Board of Medical Nutrition Therapy:  Public
Board of Medical Radiography:  Medical Radiographer
Board of Medicine and Surgery:  Medical School Faculty
Board of Mental Health Practice:  Certified Master Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, Public
Board of Nursing:  APRN, Nursing Service Administrator, Staff Nurse
Board of Occupational Therapy:  Occupational Therapist
Board of Optometry:  Optometrist
Perfusion Committee:  Perfusionist, Physician
Board of Pharmacy:  Pharmacist, Hospital Pharmacist, Public
Physician Assistant Committee:  Physician Assistant, Physician
Board of Podiatrist:  Podiatrist
Board of Psychology:  Psychologist
Board of Registered Environmental Health Specialists:  REHS, Public
Board of Respiratory Care:  Respiratory Care Practitioner, Public
Board of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery:  Veterinary Technician

Public member applicants must be at least 19 years old, be a resident of Nebraska for at least one year, must not hold an active credential in a profession subject to the Uniform Credentialing Act, must not be or have been employed by a facility subject to the Health Care Facility Act, and must not be the parent, child, spouse or household member of a person currently regulated by the board to which the appointment is being made. 

Applications must be received by August 1. Interviews will be conducted on September 18 in Omaha and on October 16 in Lincoln.
