Lincoln – A Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) employee in North Platte is being recognized as employee of the year.
Sarah Jones, an Initial Assessment Investigator, was recognized as an employee of the year.
October is Nebraska State Employee Recognition Month and state employees whose job performance exceeds the highest standards are recognized.
“These employees and supervisors are an inspiration to all of us and I want to thank them for their hard work and dedication,” said Courtney Phillips, DHHS CEO. “It is a true honor for them to be nominated by their peers for this recognition. Sarah exemplifies the DHHS mission of helping people live better lives.”
Jones’s coworkers said she is “always willing to assist in the training for new workers.” In her time with DHHS, Sarah has worked over 200 investigations regarding child abuse and neglect. Her coworkers say she “keeps the child’s best interest in mind because she values the lives of children.”
