Lexington Employee Recognized as DHHS Employee of the Year
October is Nebraska State Employee Recognition Month
Lincoln – A Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) employee in Lexington is being recognized as employee of the year.
Esmeralda Gomez, a social services worker, was recognized as an employee of the year.
October is Nebraska State Employee Recognition Month and state employees whose job performance exceeds the highest standards are recognized.
“These employees and supervisors are an inspiration to all of us and I want to thank them for their hard work and dedication,” said Courtney Phillips, DHHS CEO. “It is a true honor for them to be nominated by their peers for this recognition. Esmeralda exemplifies the DHHS mission of helping people live better lives.”
Gomez’s coworkers said she has “been an amazing asset to the team, our customer service center and DHHS.” They went on to say she is “compassionate, helpful, courteous, soft spoken and humble.” Esmeralda always understands the “impact of her work on the people she serves.”
DHHS’ employees and supervisors of the year, including Gomez will be honored along with all employees and supervisors of the year on Wednesday, November 2 with a ceremony with Gov. Pete Ricketts in the Capitol Rotunda and a reception at the Governor’s Residence.
