BSDC Employees Recognized as DHHS Employee and Supervisor of the Year
October is Nebraska State Employee Recognition Month
Lincoln – Two Beatrice State Developmental Center (BSDC) employees are being recognized as employee and supervisor of the year for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
Joanne Gaylord, a Licensed Practical Nurse, and Tami Badertscher, Intermediate Care Facility/ Developmental Disabilities Home Manager, were recognized as an employee and supervisor of the year, respectively.
October is Nebraska State Employee Recognition Month and state employees whose job performance exceeds the highest standards are recognized.
“These employees and supervisors are an inspiration to all of us and I want to thank them for their hard work and dedication,” said Courtney Phillips, DHHS CEO. “It is a true honor for them to be nominated by their peers for this recognition. Joanne and Tami exemplify the DHHS mission of helping people live better lives.”
Gaylord was nominated by her colleagues who said she is “valuable to the people she serves.” They noted that Gaylord is very good natured and has a good attitude and communication skills.
Badertscher’s coworkers said she “has so much knowledge that people seek her out for assistance on difficult projects.” Nomination forms for Badertscher also noted her attention to details, and her warm, cheerful attitude.
Gaylord and Badertscher will be honored along with all employees and supervisors of the year on Wednesday, November 2 with a ceremony with Gov. Pete Ricketts in the Capitol Rotunda and a reception at the Governor’s Residence.
BSDC is part of DHHS’ Division of Developmental Disabilities.
