Federal Grants Funding Nebraska Projects
Home and Community Services manages federal grants designed to provide choices for Nebraskans who are aged or experience disabilities. Current grants awarded to Nebraska by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) include:
- Money Follows the Person -- will help Nebraska develop a system for assisting aged individuals and persons with disabilities who want to move out of an institution (such as a nursing facility) and into their own home or apartment and rebalance Nebraska’s long term care system.
- Medicaid infrastructure Grant (MIG) -- also known as “ Nebraska Ticket to Work,” will help the state develop a system for assisting persons with disabilities who want to work and maintain needed healthcare benefits.
