Comments Needed on Strategic Plan for Children’s Mental Health by May 30
Lincoln—Comments are being sought on a strategic plan for a system of care that supports children, young adults and families in meeting mental health and other needs.  It’s intended to result in improved access to appropriate and timely community-based care that is family-driven and youth-guided, and designed to improve mental health outcomes and eliminate fragmented approaches to care.
The draft plan was developed with public input by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation and the Nebraska Federation of Families, as well as partners, advocacy groups, children and families.
“Meeting the needs of families with children who need mental health services is challenging,” said Scot L. Adams, director of the Division of Behavioral Health. “This plan is an opportunity to bring together all the different kinds of services and supports that may be needed to address those challenges.”
The plan can be found at along with a survey that solicits comments.  The deadline for commenting is May 30.
