Eastern Nebraska Veterans’ Home Receives National Award
Excellence in Action award recognizes exemplary commitment to quality
Bellevue, NE — The Eastern Nebraska Veterans’ Home (ENVH) is a recipient of the Excellence in Action award from the National Research Corporation. The honor recognizes long term care and senior living organizations that achieve the highest level of satisfaction among residents.
Of the 3,062 nursing homes and assisted living facilities polled last year, the Eastern Nebraska Veterans’ Home is in the top 13 percent.  Only four veterans homes in the country received this recognition.  This is the first time that ENVH has earned an Excellence in Action award.
“Providing an exceptional living environment and outstanding service to America’s veterans is our mission,” said Jeff Smith, ENVH administrator. “I am pleased with the award and with its national recognition to the staff’s commitment to exceptional customer service.”
“The Excellence in Action award from the National Research Corporation is a significant accomplishment,” said John Hilgert, Director of the Division of Veterans’ Homes in the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, “as the company is recognized as the largest patient satisfaction measurement firm in the U.S.  It wouldn’t be possible without the many dedicated  staff members who live the mission of serving America’s heroes.”
Located in Bellevue, the ENVH is one of four Veterans’ Homes run by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The other homes are located in Grand Island, Norfolk and Scottsbluff.  For more information about the DHHS Division of Veterans’ Homes, go to
