Public Members Sought for Professional Boards
Lincoln—The State Board of Health is seeking public members to serve on professional licensing boards.  Professional boards are responsible for granting license privileges to health care providers.  Individuals who can represent a consumer perspective and are not licensed in the particular areas that the board serves, and who are at least 19 years of age, will be appointed to fill public member vacancies.  Terms are five years in length and run through November 30, 2019.  Members would be eligible for reappointment to a five-year term. 
  • Alcohol and Drug Counseling
  • Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology
  • Chiropractic
  • Dentistry (2 positions)
  • Environmental Health Specialists
  • Medicine and Surgery (2 positions)
  • Optometry
  • Physical Therapy
  • Physician Assistant Committee
  • Board of Podiatry
  • Psychologists (2 positions)
  • Veterinary Medicine and Surgery
Persons interested in serving on these boards can obtain an application and documents related to the appointment process at Completed applications must be received by August 1.  
There are also two current consumer vacancies on the Board of Emergency Medical Services.  Members of this board are appointed by the Governor.  Applications can be found at and are now being accepted for immediate appointment.
