Department of Health and Human Services to Hold Hearings April 4th on Proposed Regulations
Lincoln –The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is holding hearings on proposed changes to regulations related to the licensure of medicine and surgery, the Credentialing Review Program, and Adult Protective Services.
The hearings will be held on Thursday, April 4th in the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln, 301 Centennial Mall South, lower level conference room A.
9 a.m. CT
The Division of Public Health will accept comments on proposed changes to regulations that relate to the licensure of medicine and surgery and osteopathic medicine and surgery.  The changes include continuing competency requirements, grounds for discipline and acts considered unprofessional conduct, and administrative penalties for practice without a credential.
10:30 a.m. CT
The Division of Public Health will accept comments on proposed new regulations related to the Credentialing Review Program.  These regulations will provide for the process of credentialing review and establish standards for use by review bodies in making recommendations for credentialing or a change in scope of practice.
1:30 p.m. CT
The Division of Children and Family Services will accept comments on proposed regulations governing the Adult Protective Services program. These regulations are intended to simplify and clarify the regulations by removing provisions that are duplicative of statutory language and by limiting the regulations to those provisions that fit the definition of a rule or regulation under the Administrative Procedure Act. The regulations will also incorporate changes in terminology enacted by the Legislature.  The changes will not alter the current operations of the APS program or impact services.
Anyone may attend and comment at the hearing or submit comments in writing.  Written comments will be given the same consideration as oral comments.  Written comments must be postmarked or received by 5:00 p.m. CT on the day of the hearings and should be sent to DHHS Legal Services, 301 Centennial Mall South, P.O.
