Artist at Lincoln Regional Center on June 7th
Lincoln—An Artist of the Arboretum show will be held on June 7th at the Lincoln Regional Center, Folsom and W. Prospector in Lincoln, in the lobby of the Administration Building.
This show will feature Rodger Gerberding, a Council Bluffs, IA, resident, who works in every medium and creates primarily figurative work, some abstraction, landscapes, portraits and book and magazine illustrations.
Gerberding was educated at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Academy of Fine Art.
He has spent 30 years teaching in the mental health field and doing casework.
“Art can contribute to wellness for consumers of mental health services,” said Carol Coussons de Reyes, administrator of the Office of Consumer Affairs in the Division of Behavioral Health, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.  “Art can create community through appreciation.”
To view the art and meet the artist you can come to the Administration Building on campus at 9:30 on Friday, June 7th.  The art exhibit in the lobby is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until June 28th.
