Artist at Lincoln Regional Center on August 5th
Lincoln—An Artist of the Arboretum show will be held on August 5th  at 9:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Regional Center, Folsom and W. Prospector in Lincoln, in the lobby of the Administration Building. The featured artist for August is Hatchytt.
Hatchytt, an Omaha resident, is the founder of Hatchytt Artworks and co-founder and chairperson of organization for the Cre8ives.  She has taught art technique and creative writing at Community Alliance in Omaha.
Hatchytt uses a wide array of techniques, from stippling and pointillism to what she terms as “high contrast shading” to show heavy metal artists, rock stars, comedians and other people in various emotional states from serene to enraged.  The portraits, she says, have helped her to express the emotional roller coaster brought on by bipolar disorder.
“Art can contribute to wellness for consumers of mental health services,” said Carol Coussons de Reyes, administrator of the Office of Consumer Affairs in the Division of Behavioral Health, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.  “Art can create community through appreciation.”
To view the art and meet the artist you can come to the Administration Building on campus at 9:30 on Monday, August 5th. The art exhibit in the lobby is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until August 30th .
