Department of Health and Human Services to Hold Hearing August 1st on Proposed New Regulations
Lincoln –The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is holding a hearing on proposed new regulations related to behavioral health services at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 1st, in the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln, 301 Centennial Mall South, lower level conference room A.
The Division of Behavioral Health will accept comments on new regulations that will:
- Implement provisions of the Nebraska Behavioral Health Services Act, including provisions related to the determination of consumer financial eligibility;
- Eliminate provisions relating to assistance for problem gambling;
- Incorporate key concepts of behavioral health reform, such as the concepts that services are recovery-oriented, trauma informed and consumer-focused; and
- Combine all regulations governing community-based services for individuals provided by the public behavioral health system.
Anyone may attend and comment at the hearing or submit comments in writing. Written comments will be given the same consideration as oral comments. Written comments must be postmarked or received by 5:00 p.m. CT on the day of the hearings and should be sent to DHHS Legal Services, 301 Centennial Mall South, P.O.
