Department of Health and Human Services to Hold Hearing September 27 on Proposed Changes to Regulations Regarding Medicaid
Lincoln –The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Division of Medicaid and Long-Term Care is holding a hearing on proposed changes to regulations that will prohibit Medicaid payment for health-care-acquired conditions and provider-preventable conditions as required by the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The hearing will be held at 1:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, September 27, in the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln, 301 Centennial Mall South, lower level conference room A.
The proposed regulations will:
  • Define health-care-acquired conditions and provider-preventable conditions; and
  • Set out which hospitals and providers are affected by the non-payment provisions.
Anyone may attend and comment at the hearing or submit comments in writing.  Written comments will be given the same consideration as oral comments.  Written comments must be postmarked or received by 5:00 p.m. CT on September 27 and should be sent to DHHS Legal Services, 301 Centennial Mall South, P.O.
