Grand Island Veterans’ Home Volunteer Group Receives Award
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Nebraska (VFW) has received the Nebraska Health Care Association and Nebraska Assisted Living Association 2012 Volunteer of the Year award.  The nomination for the award was submitted by the Grand Island Veterans’ Home.
“The VFW has volunteered at the Grand Island Veterans’ Home for many years, providing a tremendous amount of support, time and energy for their members,” said Alex Willford, administrator.  “GIVH proudly submitted the nomination knowing that the VFW was more than deserving of this honor.  Their volunteers and giving spirit show they are truly dedicated to serving our nation’s heroes.”
John Liebsack, the VFW Dept. of Nebraska State Quartermaster/Adjutant accepted the award, along with Department of Nebraska Commander Dave Beran, at the NHCA/NALA Annual Awards banquet on Wednesday evening, September 19, in Lincoln.
