Members Sought for Health Boards
Lincoln—The State Board of Health is seeking 12 members of the public and of certain professions to serve on seven professional boards and one committee that are responsible for granting license privileges to health care providers.  Public representatives or professionals are needed to serve on the following boards: 
  • Board of Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (a midwife and a physician who has a practice agreement with a nurse anesthetist)
  • Board of Cosmetology, Electrology, Esthetics, Nail Technology, and Body Art (a cosmetologist, an esthetician, and two public members)
  • Board of Medical Radiography (a medical radiographer)
  • Board of Medicine and Surgery (a physician)
  • Board of Nursing Home Administration (a non-profit nursing home administrator)
  • Board of Occupational Therapy Practice (an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant)
  • Board of Psychology (a psychologist), and
  • Perfusionist Committee (a perfusionist).

Professionals who are actively engaged in the practice of any of the above professions will be appointed to fill vacancies on the boards.  Individuals who can represent a consumer perspective and are not licensed in the particular areas that the board serves will be appointed to fill public member vacancies. 

Applications from credentialed mental health professionals are being sought for appointment to the Nebraska State Board of Health.  This position is for a partial term running through August 1, 2013, and is vacant due to a resignation.
