Veterans’ Home Gets 3rd Deficiency-free Survey
For the third year in a row, Eastern Nebraska Veterans’ Home in Bellevue was deficiency-free on their annual survey with the United Stated Department of Veterans Affairs. A team of eight surveyors from many parts of the country spent three days at the home reviewing standards related to health care, personnel and financial records, housekeeping, life-safety and dietary but they did not find any deficiencies. Surveyors complimented the home for its nursing care, food, cleanliness, positive resident/family interaction, activity program and rehabilitation services.
Jeff Smith the home’s administrator is very happy with the outcome and states this accomplishment of "serving America's heroes" would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of the home’s staff and on-going support by many friends/volunteers, the Division of Veterans’ Homes, Legislators and the Governor.
The Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home is located at 12505 South 40th Street in Bellevue and is one of four veterans’ homes in the state. The other three State Veterans’ Homes are located in Norfolk, Scottsbluff and Grand Island.
