Walk for Minority Mental Health Month
Lincoln—A walk recognizing National Minority Mental Health Month will be held Wednesday, April 18, in Lincoln.  Members of the public are invited to join the walk.
“Members of minorities are less likely to seek treatment for mental health conditions,” said Scot L. Adams, director of the Division of Behavioral Health at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.  “The message needs to be that there is hope, treatment works, and people recover.”
The walk will begin on the east side of the Nebraska State Office Building at 10:00 a.m.
Speakers from DHHS will include Scot Adams, Carol Coussons de Reyes of the Office of Consumer Affairs, Josie Rodriguez, administrator of the Office of Health Disparities and Health Equity, Parveen Ghani, and Sief Mahagoub, also of that office.
The walk is sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health, Office of Consumer Affairs.
