In January 2015, the full NAHAC planned focus groups with young people across the state. This process informed the strategic plan, which was written in late 2015. Later, the NAHAC served as an advisory body to the Adolescent Health program as we strived to promote healthy youth development principles in all programming for youth across the state.
NAHAC will inform, advise, and advance the Nebraska Adolescent Health Program.
Nebraska adolescents are empowered and able to live safe, healthy, and successful lives.
NAHAC will collaborate to develop, advise and advocate for programs that will advance the health of Nebraska adolescents and young adults.
NAHAC Operating Guidelines
The Nebraska Adolescent Health Advisory Committee (NAHAC) collaborates to develop, advise and advocate for programs that will advance the health of Nebraska adolescents and young adults to ensure Nebraska adolescents are empowered and able to live safe, healthy and successful lives. NAHAC infuses a youth voice into its process by gathering input in the communities and inclusion of at least six members on the NAHAC.
The NAHAC values the perspective, relevance and authenticity of youth members. We aim to eliminate barriers to participation, enhance understanding and contribution through orientation, mentorship and providing resources, allowing for full engagement of all members.
